I can’t believe summer is at an end. I notice leaves are already turning color and falling. And it’s downright chilly in the morning! Our summer was unusually busy (for us), starting with Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start of summer, when we went camping at Black Moshannon. Then it was Lily’s birthday & party, Elmwood Zoo, Julian’s graduation, Sesame Place, Julian’s party, Knoebel’s, and finally, to wrap it all up, Ocean City. There were a few other things in there too, and all together it was a good summer.

But now it’s on to autumn and winter, and pumpkins, turkey, and A Christmas Story!

Last year after returning from Ocean City I wanted to create a digital art piece about our vacation. I started with a photo I took of the ocean, and added a layer of text on top. The text contains words and phrases that encompass our vacation activities, sights, sounds, and of course tastes!

I finally finished it last week. I kind of ran out of steam (and inspiration) with it last year, but felt a renewed desire to finish it after returning from our recent trip to Ocean City.

Honestly this piece is so simple I’m not sure it qualifies as digital art; it’s more like an embellished photo. But whatever. Here it is.
