another dark february.

The first few weeks of February were a bit rough with personal issues causing stormy weather. Last February was like that too. But things have calmed down and are peaceful now, thank goodness.

But of course I’ve ended up late in finishing my February page in my calendar journal. It should have been done 2 weeks ago. oh well. At least it’s done now. And here it is…

At first I was thinking of a black color theme, under the influence of my personal February storms and a Rasputina song called Dark February. But then I thought that was too depressing, so I decided to do something different and go with a “love” theme in pink, black, and silver. It still came out on the darker side though!

There are many layers of paint, with rubberstamping on top of that (I used these cool chandelier stamps and a love stamp). Then came a layer of Glimmer Mist. The journaling squares were cut from scrapbook paper; I ran black ink along the edges and then once they were glued down I went around each one with a charcoal pencil. I used silver glitter stickers to spell out “February”, and I punched small circles out of charcoal glitter paper and glued them on for just a touch more sparkle. I’m very pleased with this page.

Of course I’m behind now with the March page…ugh. Maybe I’ll get caught up for April!
