The last two weeks have been my busy time at work. I’ve had no extra time for anything, other than eating, sleeping, and an occasional load of laundry. Thank goodness that is over now, and I can get back to my regularly scheduled life.
I finally finished the necklace I was making for my Mom (weeks ago. I’m just now having time to post about it!). She had purchased this Miyuki bead kit and asked me to make it for her. It was probably about a year ago that she gave me the kit, and I think I started the necklace sometime in the summer. As per my normal course of action, it has taken a ridiculous amount of time to finish. Not that it took long to actually make the necklace, but finding the time to make it, took a long time! If that makes sense.
Anyway, here it is…
I think it turned out so pretty! I really love it. When my Mom gave me the kit, I thought, oh that’s cute. But now that I can see the finished piece…I am surprised how much I like it. I might have to make one for myself! I’ll have to see what color Delicas I have.
I have to say however, that I very much dislike using beading wire and crimps. I strung this necklace four times (four times!!) before I could finally get the crimps right with no extra space. Ugh! I find it very difficult to get the beading wire pulled tightly enough when I do the second crimp. But thankfully the fourth try turned out very well.
Thanks for stopping by!
